    Dana and grade 5 students,
What a great way to get to know each other on the first day. I hope you look forward to more relationship building, creativity and engaging in your learning environment as well as with others throughout this school year!

Hi Dana, thank you so much for sharing your story! I got goose bumps when you described how the students began to help others when they figured out they were on a team and not in a competition. That is such a powerful message that is going to take all of your students far this year.

      Hi Leah,

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! It truly amazed me to see them processing in that moment and then making the decision to put teamwork above competition. Its been such a great start to the year and I can’t wait for all the learning adventures we will have!

Welcome to PSD70, Dana! What an incredible addition you are to our Parkland Team. Your first day with students sounds amazing and I am so excited to get to work with you at Greystone. Thanks for sharing how important it is to build a collaborative community of learners within your classroom (and within our school). I can’t wait to see where our students will take their learning this year! #bestyearever

Hi Miss Ariss’s class, this is Millgrove 4H. We are wondering if you ate the marshmallows after? It looks like a delicious project. Did it take a long time to build it? We didn’t do anything like that on the first day. We made time fly on the first day! It was so amazing and incredible!

Hi Mrs. Holden and Millgrove 4H,

We didn’t eat the marshmallows afterwards because they were dirty and dusty! It kind of did, we think somewhere like 20 – 30 mins.
What did you do that was amazing and incredible? How did you make time fly? Is your classroom big? Do you have lockers?
Have a good and great year!
