Francofête – un temps à fêter!
The week of February 23 to 27, 2015 was French Week at École Meridian Heights School. It is a week dedicated to celebrating French language and culture around the world.
This year’s activities included a presentation about French in Africa, crêpes, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a French movie, and an outdoor Carnaval for all of our students (that’s Kindergarten all the way to Grade 9!).
The various activities of Francofête allow our dual-track school to come together to engage in and explore the French language. There are activities which are accessible to and participated in by every student in our building: that means even students who haven’t started taking a French class yet get to be a part of the celebration! This generates excitement for learning the language and a great sense of community in the school.
It was a great week, full of fun, laughter, learning, & le français here at ÉMHS!
