Our province, Alberta, is known around the globe as being special because of the many dinosaur fossils that have been discovered here. 190 million years ago there were dinosaurs in the arctic. 2 billion years ago Mars crashed into Earth and that created the moon as we know it. No one knows how the dinosaurs had died 100 million years ago but scientists are trying to find out more about dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are a varied group of animals from taxonomic, morphological and ecological standpoints. The dinosaurs first appeared during the Triassic period Dinosaurs are a group of animals of the word Dinosauria. Many dinosaurs were quite small for example, one was only about 20 inches long. Some scientists believe dinosaurs are cold blooded. Using fossil evidence, paleontologists have identified over 500 distinct Dinosaurs and more than 1000 different species of non-avian dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are represented on every continent by both extant species and fossil remains. It is even in possible to get DNA from the bones. 100 million years ago the arctic was mostly like Canada with jungle and had a lot of Dinosaurs.
