She grew up on an acreage just outside of Stony Plain and attended Muir Lake School up to Grade 9. Her life began to revolve around soccer right around the time she started going to school at Spruce Grove Composite High School. Stephanie Labbé’s world has certainly opened up since graduating from Parkland School Division.
The soccer goalkeeper had her first taste of National Team action at the age of 15. She pursued her post-secondary education and furthered her soccer career at the University of Connecticut. She turned pro and headed overseas to play in Sweden. Most recently, Stephanie signed a pro contract with the Washington Spirit of the NWSL. She’s technically on loan from the Canadian Women’s National team as an allocated player. Her North American pro debut will be the final tune up as she gets ready for the Olympics in Rio.
We recently caught up with Stephanie as she made a trip down memory lane with an entourage from lululemon. The clothing company aligns themselves with elite athletes and ambassadors across North America. She’ll be featured on the company’s social media platforms in the coming months…just in time for Olympics.
