When digital technology was first used in our schools, it was a tool for teachers to communicate with students and parents. Today, students are using technology to support their learning. In 2013, Alberta Education developed the Learning and Technology Policy Framework. Policy 1 of that framework focuses on student-centred learning. Technology is used to support student-centred, personalized, authentic learning for all students.
Parkland School Division was recently asked to share all the great work happening in our school division when it comes to Policy 1. In our second of a series of four videos, we feature how students use technology, online learning and digital learning to discover, develop and apply competencies across subject and discipline areas for learning, work and life.
