Tobogganing!

Great News!
One of our parents has generously offered to organize sledding for our grade 3-5 students Jan 25 & 26, 2017. We will put out notes on the Friday for the following week. However, in order to make sledding available for our students, we will need your help as a parent to help supervise the hill during the lunch break from 11:25-11:55 a.m. If you are able to help with this please contact Deidre (Didi) Beaudoin at  (780) 968-7678.

The expectations for the students who will participate in tobogganing are as follows:
Following the Alberta Safety Guidelines as well as the Alberta Health Services’ Provincial Injury Prevention Team (2010), your son/daughter will be expected to understand and adhere to the following considerations:

  • All students on toboggans must wear an approved outdoor activity helmet
  • Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn for outdoor activities
  • Toboggans must be in good repair with no jagged edges
  • Snow saucers, tubes, crazy carpets, and GT racers are not be used at any time
  • Students are only permitted to kneel or sit on the toboggan
  • Students must not proceed until the run-out area is clear providing for a safe distance between toboggans
  • The supervisor will ensure that an appropriate number of children are on each toboggan
Students may be removed from participating in this activity if the supervisor identifies inappropriate behaviour. Note:Toboggans are NOT allowed on the buses.

We are back at it!

First and foremost, a huge thank you to all my students and families for the thoughtful gifts this holiday season. I am so lucky to have such a sweet and caring class 🙂

Before we left for winter break we had our in-school field trip focused on rocks and minerals. Below are some pictures of our scientists in action!

We helped the kindergarten class make a Christmas craft for themselves and worked together to make cards for the seniors at the West Country Hearth lodge.

We also helped the kinders read their letters from Santa.
