Kia soul Party Rock Anthem- Kia trying to get people to buy their product

The song they chose

Anyone who is buying a car

richness

Dark colors

The ad wants consumers to think if they drive this car they will feel cool and young. Kia is trying to get anyone who is in the process of buying a car to choose them.

The ad could influence some people but others might not be influenced and stay with what they want.

It is the ad that controls society. The ads are there to persuade people that there product is the best and you should only use there product. Companies would take the concept of there previous ads if the ad worked they would be bound to use the same concept for future ads. Ads control what people want when the consumer see an ad that they like the ad will control the person and wanting the consumer to go and buy the product. Society doesn’t have much control to what media shows us.

Vivid Description

May 16, 2012 in Writting

Everywhere I go there it is… the garbage can. It goes around looking for trespassers and sneaks up on you and tries to kill you. You try to hide but it is no match it will always find you. Every time you try to throw garbage out it will attack. It only accepts sharp objects that will help it attack and eliminate the person. It is murderous. No one goes near it they all know what could happen either escape or get caught in a split second. The garbage can strike at any time… you just don’t know when. We try everything to get rid of it but it is just too difficult. We tried to capture it or set it on fire nothing seems to happen it always comes back. But we didn’t try to explode it so we tried that something was happening but didn’t know what. Then we heard a bang the garbage can has finally been destroyed. We are now all safe from that murderous garbage can.

Invisible Hand

May 8, 2012 in Social Studies, Writting

If a market economy runs on an “Invisible Hand”, how are they prices regulated? If you have the same supplier that gets their product from the same place then the supplier could choose to add more to go with the price that the consumer pays. When a consumer goes and looks for a better deal they would be bound to go to the one with more services and friendlier environment. The consumer would also put in consideration does this place have the needs and services that I need. The demand of the product places a role for the supplier because the supplier needs to listen to the consumer and see what they want to see in the company. The supplier will then think about it and see if it would be beneficial for the company. The consumer will also look at the price and look for a better deal. The supplier could go in with a partnership with another supplier to get the attention of the consumer and have them thinking this place has more choices for me. The quality the consumer gets determines if the supplier gets the consumers business in the near future and might also get newer customers. A monopoly is a word used for one seller in the market in that area. The incentives are something a supplier would use to increase their business for example 5 cents off with a minimum amount you spent. The profit is the amount you have made after all the deductions. Bankruptcy means that you are making too little and can’t keep up with the bills which would force the business out of business. Special offers are used to drag in more customers and keep customers. The price is what the consumer would have to pay to get the product(s). The cost is what the supplier would have to pay to get the product in.  The consumer has a choice where they can go for the product. A consumer could go to one business and pay more for better service and get more with the product. They could also choose a different company for the same product but not as good service but for less. Overall the “Invisible Hand” plays an important role in the decision making for the consumer and what is offered for them. They would also be looking for better service. At the end of the day all the supplier cares about is that they made enough money and has loyal customers and dragging in new customers.

New Land

New Land

It’s now been five years since I got off the boat. We don’t have much for resources all we had was a river, sand, grass, and long grass. When I got to the land I was thinking there is no way we can live on this land with very little resources. We survived five years and we should be able to last another five. If we can stay on this land for ten years then we get to keep it and do whatever we want to the land. New has a skill of weaving which we used her skill for making nets to catch fish and gold. I am living on the land with three other people constructing the land the way we want and also to the Queens expectations, if we do not please her then I would be coming home with nothing. As the years went on we struck gold that was in the river and we also found fish. On the land there are two bison that we tamed and using for food and clothing. Unfortunately we are starting to lack on resources, I have been looking for work with other peasants that are on different pieces of land. I have been having no luck on getting a job. Unfortunately I fell in the river and died by setting up the net for fishing, but a nearby peasant fished me out and revived me. I am now living with the peasants that fished me out of the river. For them I am hunting and doing construction on the land. When the ten years are up and we can keep the land hopefully you guys could come and live on the new land. By then I hope we can have the resources we need to live a full life on that land. Where our location is we don’t have much protection against predators but hopefully we can build a wall for protection. The house is complete and able to sustain life. We are starting to trade things for valuable resources. Recently we got an apple so that we can have fresh fruit, but we would have to wait a while because it still has to grow.

We are now in the year of 1509 and the queen came for her announcement regarding the need of soldiers. We gave the queen wheat and soldiers. Four of my brothers came on a ship but it sunk. Now I have to go as a soldier to make the queen happy so we can remain on the land. The queen is returning in six months to say if war is declared with TChikchikua and the First Nations. We might be getting more soldiers to fight the war but now it’s uncertain about the war and the need of more soldiers. Our land is constructed to the best of our ability but we don’t have any protection against predators. We might not need the protection because of our location but it depends where the enemy is coming from. I am thinking having the protection of the land would be better than none. Having a wall could give us time to get away from war or other disturbance. Hopefully war is not declared for all the other lots because that could give more troubles; the soldiers could stop the war at its earliest so it wouldn’t affect everyone else. Everything on the land is going great we are not experiencing any shortage of supplies which is good. Life is good on the land and I hope it stays that way starting with the war; I don’t want to go to war with the other tribes who are coming to attack. I don’t know what is causing them to come and fight. It could be for land or power at this point I am not sure for what. Everyone doesn’t know anything until the next visit from the queen. All we have to do wait and hear what is going to happen in the coming years. Everyone could be successful or not it all depends what we are going to have to face.

Immigration and Refugees in Canada

B Page 167 – Respect the bilingual and multicultural character of Canada – Immigration and Protection Act

We gave Canada a B because they have improved since the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act came into effect in 2002. Canada now treats each culture equal. Before the Act Canada treated the Chinese with no respect they had to work on the railway and was practically left to die. They also had to pay a head tax for every Chinese person who came. Canada now believes that it is wrong to discriminate a culture because of their color, religion and culture. Canada has come a long way from discrimination to accepting different cultures.

C Page 177- save lives and offer protection to people who are displaced and persecuted- Immigration and Protection Act

We gave Canada a C because when the refugees from Sri Lanka came they were put into a detention facility and tested there. Canada did not respect the innocent until proven guilty stated in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Canada sort of followed the innocent until proven guilty but not fully like what they do to Canadian citizens. We did not give it an F because Canada did give the refugees the chance to explain who they really are. By Canada putting the refugees into the detention facility they did keep in mind of the safety of the Canadians and not putting us at risk of being hurt by the refugees.

C Fundamental Freedoms- Freedom of conscience and religion- Immigration and Protection Act

We gave Canada a C because they once did not respect religion of different cultures. The Chinese had a different religion than Christianity. The majority of the population was practicing Christianity while the Chinese practiced their own. They were treated with very little to no respect. When the Chinese were working on the railway they were left out there to die. When one died their family would not be told they would just be buried there on the spot.

Kony 2012

March 13, 2012 in Uncategorized

Last week we watched a video about Kony and him taking kids from their homes. Kony would make them kill their parents and other people he had in mind. He has gotten away with this for 26 years. In that time period nothing has been done and now they are now deciding to raise awareness of this problem happening in Uganda. People all over the world are now doing something about this problem by putting up posters, websites, and facebook pages all so people can respond to the issue. If this event was happening in Canada it would not be occurring as long as what Joseph Kony is. They are saying 2012 is the year they are going to capture Joseph. If they want 2012 to be the year then they better act faster because there are only seven months to do so. If the U.S military teach the Uganda military how to capture him then Kony would be caught faster than if they wait. With all the support to get Kony there would be a better chance that he won’t be affecting any more people. From the video I learned that it is not only affecting Uganda it is affecting the whole world. If things go as planned by the end of 2012 Kony won’t be affecting any more people.
