Posted by dshaw | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on May 28, 2018

Pond days is an educational program where students from grades 4/5 learn about conservation, environmental stewardship, and specifically the importance of healthy riparian areas. This program is a cooperative yearly event between West-Central Forage Association (WCFA) and Parkland County.

Students will rotate through interactive learning stations, spending approximately 30 minutes at each station, where they will learn about the different aspects of riparian areas, including aquatic insects, wildlife habitat/ ID, plant diversity, water quality, riparian areas and agriculture.

We would just like to remind you that the event will take place outside, and we ask that the students (and parents) bring the following:

  • Dress in layers to suit the weather
  • Rain gear
  • Rubber boots
  • Second set of shoes
  • Sunblock
  • Bug spray
  • A lunch
  • Water bottles

The Buses will be leaving the school by 8:30 a.m. on June 1st, 2018 and will return to school by 2:15 p.m.
