We were very happy to have such great weather for our annual Grade 4 trip to Snow Valley. Here is a collection of writing from our tired skiers:
Today we went to Snow Valley. I will tell you it is a workout! When I went down the stairs all I could hear was the clomp! clomp! clomp! of the heavy boots. I biffed it, and fell so many so many times but I got up again and again.
The sun was so bright my eyes hurt. I felt the wind in my face on the chairlift. I love the sound of skis and snowboards swish, swish. Swish and down, swish and down, over and over again. While whizzing down the hills like Rainbow Ridge and Cascade you could feel the powdery snow in your face. I made a too wide turn and face planted (the snow did not taste very good). When I sat down I could feel the wetness on my legs and my mitts were soaked. It felt so good to take off all the skiing gear. I could see a lot of smiles on their faces once we were done, and saying that “I want to come back here again!”
On the ride home I slept a bit. I’m glad we went skiing because Alberta has lots of snow – you can ski for the rest of your life!
