Toonies for Tanzania

Toonies for Tanzania

Last year our school was fortunate to have a visit from a very special lady, Sharmala Beull. She came to us to speak about her journey to help children in Tanzania. She personally cares for 7 orphan boys, providing them with a home, food, clothing and education. She also runs a program to help other children receive an education so that they can better their lives. This program is called “Hope for the Future”. We were touched by her presentation and her commitment to these children. She was able to return again this year and took some time to speak to our students who are involved in our We Care school team. Our We Care Team is now asking for our school family to synergize and work together to help these children. For 40 dollars one child will receive a uniform, haircuts, a daily meal, medical care and school fees for a year. We are hoping that we can work together to help as many children as possible.
During the week of October 21-24, students are encouraged to bring in “Toonies for Tanzania”. The We Care Team will have a table set up outside the library where students can come and “deposit” their toonies and other coins for Hope to the future. Look also in that spot to see a running total of money collected and Tanzanian children that will be helped by our school.
