Mustang Ring

Yesterday, Grade 6-9 students wowed us with their innovative designs at our Design Expo.  Today, twelve designs moved on to our Mustang Ring (Dragon’s Den).  With Mrs. Stride Goudie, Mr. McNaughton and Edmonton Eskimo Mr. Grant Shaw as our judges, our designers were able to “pitch” their designs in front of staff and students.  Congratulations to all of our student designers for two amazing days!

Here’s a quick peek at our Expo and Mustang Ring, in case you missed them!

Design Thinking

About five weeks ago, the grade 6-9 students were introduced to the concept of Design Thinking.  Since then, for about three blocks per week, they have been learning about the process and working through it in order to solve a problem that would make the world a better place.

It has been so exciting to watch the incredible creativity and perseverance of our students as they designed, tested and re-designed their own original solutions to a problem.
Next week, the students will be ready to share their designs with the community at our DESIGN EXPO.  As this is also the day of our K-5 Leader in Me Assembly (which is at 9:00), we will be opening up the expo before the assembly begins, and again after first recess.  Please consider joining us for this celebration of learning!
