Did You Know . . .

Report cards will be available online via our PowerSchool Parent Portal at the end of today, Thursday June 29th. Copies of the report cards will be going home with students today. Any paper copies not picked up will be available for pickup in the office after August 24th.

Have a great summer everyone and we will see you back on the first day of school, Tuesday September 5th.

Goodwill Donation Drive

Goodwill Industries of Alberta has teamed up with us to do a Goodwill Donation Drive.

On Monday June 26th and Tuesday June 27th there will be a Goodwill truck/trailer here at school. Please drop off your gently used items that you have collected while doing your spring cleaning. This can be done during regular school hours from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Donation bags are available in the school office or simply use a plastic bag from home.

Thank you for your support of Muir Lake School and Goodwill Alberta!

Muir Lake School Science Fair

Mrs. Arnold and Mr. Brown are very pleased to showcase some of the work that the grade 7 and 8 students have been doing in science this year.  We will be holding a science fair in the gym on Thursday June 22nd from 1-2 pm.  Parents and students are invited to come see some very cool projects, experiments and new inventions created by our very own Muir Lake Science students!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email karnold@psd70.ab.ca

See you there!

Required Online Bus Registration Open Now

Parkland School Division is changing the way families sign up for Transportation Services. For the 2017 – 2018 school year, we require ALL families to register in advance online starting Monday, June 5th. This includes riders whose Transportation Fees will be $0. Details and links will be shared with parents via email. The good news is, once parents/guardians register online in advance, long line-ups for bus pass sales at the Centre for Education in the fall can be completely avoided.

For the 2017-2018 school year, in order to ensure transportation on the first day of school, applications must be submitted before July 15th, 2017.

Routes and stop locations will be created from application forms received before the July 15th deadline. Applications will continue to be processed throughout the summer; however families are encouraged to guarantee their spots as some routes are currently at or near capacity.

For detailed instructions on how to register for busing online, visit Online Bus Registration Instructions page of the PSD70 Website.

School Supply Fundraiser

Write-On Stationery is offering the parents of Muir Lake School the opportunity to pre-purchase their school supplies for the 2017-2018 school year. Write-On will purchase, package and deliver all of your children’s school supplies for the next year.

Simply fill out the form that went home with your child, return it to the school and pick up your supplies during the last week of August. Extra forms will be available in the office OR you can order and pay for your supplies online at www.write-on.ca. As a fundraiser, Muir Lake School will receive a percentage of all orders placed – it’s just that easy! “Write On Stationery” orders will be accepted until June 21st.

Supply Lists will be going home with your student’s report card at the end of the year and are also available by clicking HERE.

Elementary Track Meet

We would like to wish all of our grade 4 to 6 Mustangs luck as they compete in their events today at the elementary track meet being held at Stony Plain Central School.

Click HERE to view the schedule.

SPC has respectfully asked that you do NOT park in the bus transfer area. There is a large parking lot to the west of the bus transfer area. Thank you for your assistance with this.

Go Mustangs!
