K-5 parents are invited to attend our first cultural event of the year on Friday, Sept 15. Michael Mitchell, a Canadian singer and songwriter will be performing songs celebrating Canada – it’s geography, history, and people. The performance will be at 1:00 in the gymnasium.
If you are interested in buying any of his music, an order form is attached below. Please print the form and bring it filled out along with money on the day of the concert.

May 24th is 80’s Day! Spend the weekend searching for some wicked 80’s wear. It’s going to be totally awesome!
Parents are invited to join us this Monday, May 1 to celebrate music education. Our grade 3-6 choir will be performing as well as the grade 6’s, the Glee Club, and some violin students. The performance will start at 9:00am in the school gymnasium.
Choir students – please come dressed in your black t-shirts.
This year, Muir Lake’s Talent show will be held Friday, May 12. Students can sign up for auditions on posters outside the library or music room. Auditions will be held in Mrs. Arnold’s room during lunch recess from April 3-7. Come show us what makes you a star!
Muir Lake Musical Theatre CTF is putting on its own version of Cinderella!
Mrs. Gottenbos & Miss Remillard have been working with a fantastic group of grade 6-9’s getting ready for what may be our best play yet! There will be two nights of performances: Wednesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 16. Both performances will be at 7:00pm, with doors opening at 6:45. Tickets will be on sale at the school office starting Monday, Feb. 28. Tickets are $5.00 each.
Please note that this will be about a 45 minute performance and that actors will not be miked. For this reason we ask you not to buy tickets for young children who cannot sit quietly for this long. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Are you interested in learning to play a wind instrument? Mr. Loge from Ecole Broxton Park School is heading into his 10th year offering a beginner and advanced program for band students. Anyone in the Spruce Grove area is invited to join. Please see the attached documents for further details. An information night will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017.

Choir members – please come dressed in black pants/dress/pants. We will be wearing our choir t-shirts. I have most of these in the music room already. One less thing to worry about.
Please notice the following needs by way of costumes or props for the grade 4-6 classes:
Props needed: If you have hockey sticks, jerseys, gloves, pads, or helmets, please label them and bring them to store in the music room. These will stay here until the Christmas concert.
Gavin, Alexis, Kyla, Nicholas – please bring a toque & mitts or a toque & scarf.
Come dressed in: Shorts, t-shirts, sunglasses (if you have them).
Props needed: Looking for a few Sombreros. Please send them labeled with your child’s name.
Props needed: Hawaiian leighs. Please attach a piece of tape to the leigh with your child’s name on it.

Attention Gr. 1-3 Parents: Mrs. Gottenbos is looking for someone to help create 8 cardstock “star costumes” for this year’s Christmas Concert Play.
