Fundraising Lunches Day Switch!!

Please Note!!!

For those people that have ordered a hot dog lunch through the Fundraising Lunch Program on Thursday June 21st, the day has SWITCHED to Tuesday June 19th! There are way too many classes gone on field trips on Thursday and we don’t want the students to miss out on the last lunch day.

Please be sure to send a lunch for Thursday June 21st.

Lunch Programs

The Hot Lunch program that usually runs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday has wrapped up leaving us with just the Fundraising Lunches.

So what does this mean?

It means that IF you have ordered through the online lunch ordering system, lunches will only be served to the students on Mondays and Thursdays through the months of May & June. Please ensure that your children have lunches each day of the week.

With this being said, don’t forget to place your final June lunch order by the end of Thursday May 17th.

Florabunda Orders Delayed

Due to unexpected shipping delays, the Florabunda Seed Orders have been delayed.

Seed orders will NOT be available for pick up on March 20th. Please watch for more details about when the orders will be available.

Fundraising at MLS

Beef Jerky order deadline has been EXTENDED to Tuesday February 27th

New this Year!!! Muir Lake Community School Foundation is excited to be partnering with Florabunda Seeds and Wilhauk Beef Jerky as their Fundraisers for this Spring!

Fundraising Info packages have gone home with your children – be sure to check it out.

There are THREE options for ordering seeds from Florabunda Seeds

View the Collections of seeds that are available in the Florabunda Fundraising Flyer by clicking HERE . You can also view their full selection of flower, vegetable, herb seeds on the Florabunda Website at www.FlorabundaSeeds.ca to add your favourites to your paper order form. Information on the Florabunda Seeds Fundraiser can be found HERE and the Florabunda Seeds Order Form can be downloaded by clicking this LINK – be sure to keep a copy for your records for distribution.

Florabunda Orders and payments by cash or cheque payable to Muir Lake Community School Foundation (MLCSF) need to be in to the school by Tuesday February 27th! Seed orders can be picked up AT the school on March 20th in the kitchen from 8 am – 3:30 pm.

Wilhauk Beef Jerky has teamed up with the MLCS Foundation to bring us the second part of our Spring Fundraiser. The Wikhauk Beef Jerky Order Form is available by clicking HERE.

Please have your Wilhauk Beef Jerky Order and payment by cash or cheque payable to MLCSF in to the office by Tuesday February 27th.  Jerky orders will be available for pick up at their Store in Spruce Grove at 201 McLeod Avenue on Friday March 9th or Saturday March 10th.

Please NOTE that Wilhauk Beef Jerky is running a contest amongst ALL of the participating PSD schools to see which school can raise the most money.

  • 1st Prize: Pizza Party for the WHOLE School PLUS $300
  • 2nd Prize: $250 toward the Fundraising Efforts of your school
  • 3rd Prize: $200 toward the Fundraising Efforts of your school

So get your orders in ASAP!

Calahoo Meats Pick Up Reminder

Just a quick reminder that the Calahoo Meats orders will be ready for pick up this afternoon, Wednesday April 26th from 1:30 to 4:00 at the Muir Lake School. You are responsible to pick up your total order from the school and distribute to your family and friends. It is important to pick up your orders at this time as unfortunately we do not have the freezer space to store the boxes for any length of time.

Gr 5 Camp Fundraisers

With Spring just around the corner, now is a good time to plan your barbeque season!

The Muir Lake School Grade 5 classes have taken on the Calahoo Meats and Kernels Popcorn Fundraisers in hopes of raising enough money to go on their annual camping trip.

Kernels popcorn comes popped and is in bags the size of individual chip bags. They are popped and sealed the day before the bags are delivered to you. These healthy snacks are gluten-free, nut free and have a shelf life of 10 weeks!

We have two easy ways to complete your Calahoo Meats & Kernels Popcorn orders.  Click HERE for the information letter, product brochure as well as the Calahoo Meats and Kernels Popcorn order forms that you can share with your family and friends. These packages are also going home with the students.

Order forms along with payment will be accepted into the office until the end of the school day on Wednesday April 5th. We have also added these items to the online fundraising area at www.muirlakeschool.hotlunches.net.  Please click on the login tab and Muir Lake Fundraising will appear.

Late orders will not be accepted as this will delay the pick-up date. Payments can be made online through the Fundraising Site or by cash or cheque made payable to Muir Lake Community School Foundation (MLCSF).

The Kernels Popcorn orders can be picked up in the school kitchen on Thursday April 20th until 1:30 pm.

Spell A Thon is Back!

Our Muir Lake School Community Foundation has kicked off the annual school Spell-A-Thon. All spell-a-thon money raised this year will be put toward the purchase & installation of new hydraulic basketball hoops. The school uses them all year by all classes and they need to be replaced. Approximately $34,000 will be needed for this project.

Each student from kindergarten to grade 6 will be bringing home a list of words, chosen by their teacher, and a pledge form. They will then practice their word list and go out and collect pledges from family and friends for the spell-a-thon. They may collect money for each word that they spell correctly or may collect a flat amount. The information letter, word lists & pledge form is also available by clicking HERE.

Tests will be administered by the teachers the week of April 3 to 10 and pledge forms and money will then be collected by the students and are due in to the office by April 21st. The final totals and all grand prize winners will be announced and handed out at an assembly on April 27. Other prizes will be distributed to students in their classrooms.

This year the prize levels will be as follows:  

  • Level 1 Prize: $1 – $19.99 raised will earn PRIZE!
  • Level 2 Prize: $20-$49.99 raised will earn swimming pass!
  • Level 3 Prize: $50-$99.99 raised will earn a prize!
  • Level 4 Prize: $100 and over raised will earn a child’s movie pass!

Top prizes include 3 family adventures!

  • The top fundraiser for the school will win one of these prizes.  
  • In addition, there will be 2 draws for the remaining students who have raised more than $100:
  • 1 for Kindergarten to Grade 3 students and 1 for grade 3-6 students:
  • Every student who raises $100-$150 will receive one entry into the draw
  • Every student who raises $151-$200 will receive two entries into the draw
  • Every student who raises over $200 will receive three entries into the draw

***Top fundraiser is not eligible to enter the draw for the second top prize****

The top 2 fundraising classes will receive a treat for the class.

As the Muir Lake Community School Foundation is a registered charity, tax receipts can be issued for a donation over $20 so please be sure to include your email address on the pledge form in order to receive your tax receipt.
