You are invited to the Family Fun Event with Jeff Johnson here at Parkland Village School on November 15 from 1:00-3:00. This event is for parents and their children who are 5 years old and under. It is a hands on play date with your child where parents learn from child-led, open-ended play. The materials are provided, the children set the rules and everyone rediscovers the world through play. For more information please view below or click the link to view the Explorations Early Learning document in your browser.

As you are aware, Parkland Village School “After School Programs” are part of the Evolve Program and are just getting ready to start. Thank-you to our program coordinator Cindy Van Beers for organizing this and to all of our volunteers who are making this happen. It truly is phenomenal to see the community dedication to make a difference in our students here at Parkland Village School. The programs running this fall are Creative Movement, Drama Club, Cooking Club, and Homework Club.
If you would like to contribute and volunteer in some capacity either this fall or after Christmas we would love your help! Currently we are looking for parent volunteers to assist with Creative Movement on Mondays.

Wow! There was a buzz in the hallways last week when the students, staff and community raised $930.00 for the Terry Fox Foundation! Way to go Parkland Village School!!! On Wednesday, September 23 the students, staff and families participated in the Nation Wide Terry Fox Run. We kicked off the run with a pie eating contest with a special surprise for the students in the end. We would like to thank Save-on-Foods in Spruce Grove for donating 5 banana cream pies and 5 chocolate cream pies for the pie eating contest. Mr. McNaughton and the other nine contestants were suited up and 1, 2, 3, the contest began with cheering from everyone in attendance.
It didn’t take long for the pies to start flying as Mr. Kotak was assisting a few of the contestants in getting their faces into those delicious pies. The kids were excited and jumped for joy when Mr. McNaughton was declared the winner beating the nine other contestants from each one of the classrooms at Parkland Village School. The students received an extra 15 minute recess for their efforts and contribution to this excellent cause. But the fun didn’t stop there.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 30 the Parkland Village Staff turned in to an all Female Rock Band and sang their version of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Mr. McNaughton, Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Kotak all looked great as females. Please enjoy the videos below that we have shared with you of this amazing and rewarding event at our school. Super job Parkland Village School!
This year we have introduced a new system for booking parent teacher interviews that improves efficiency and convenience. One of the main benefits of booking your appointments online is that it allows you to be able to coordinate your parent teacher interview schedule especially if you have more than one child in different classes. We encourage you to sign up as soon as possible as selection of time slots is on a first come first serve basis. Instructions and links are below; however, if you have any questions or problems, don’t hesitate to contact the office and we would be happy to assist you.
