School Council Parent Workshop Tomorrow

This Wednesday, February 18, 2015, School Council is hosting a parent workshop about Bullying and Healthy Relationships. This workshop is free of charge for all our parents/guardians of students at Parkland Village School.  Felicia Ochs, Youth Resiliency Coordinator for Parkland School Division, is our Guest Speaker and will be talking about building healthy relationships with your child. Also, joining us is Valorie Livingston, giving us a parent’s perspective of the journey through a child being bullied.

Registration is not required but please arrive early to ensure you have a seat! Childcare will be provided. We hope to see you there!

ThoughtExchange Coming Soon

On behalf of the students we serve, we would like to invite you to please contribute your thoughts regarding Parkland School Division. We want to know what you think we do well and where we can improve.

We recognize that success and well-being will continually require the complete engagement of our educational stakeholders. Our Ultimate Goal, Success for All Students, is dependent upon engagement with our community. Everyone can make a meaningful contribution to public education.

Beginning next week, all our schools will be sharing a direct-survey link via email inviting participation in ThoughtExchange.   You can join the conversation by providing your thoughts.  In a few weeks, you will be invited to join the second step of the process – to review and help prioritize the thoughts that are most important to you and your school community.

This will help us get a sense of shared values and priorities of our school and our community. It’s also an important tool in our education planning and will help guide important decisions in the future that will allow us to deliver the best possible education to our children.

Your time spent engaged in this process is very much appreciated.  Watch for the link coming home soon.
