Principal’s Message

Dear Parkland Village School Parents & Guardians,
The 2016 – 2017 school year is finally here.  On behalf of the entire staff at Parkland Village School, I’d like to wish you a warm welcome back. Unfortunately I won’t be able to do that in-person for the next couple of weeks due to health reasons.  My summer included some unexpected back surgery in August.  My recovery continues and as a result, I’ve been instructed to work reduced hours. Thankfully, doctors are predicting a full recovery.
In the meantime, our students will be in good hands.  Please join me in welcoming Ms. Linda Simmonds who will assist as Acting Principal.  We will be teaming up until I’m back full-time.  Ms. Simmonds is the Principal for the new school yet to be built in Spruce Grove’s west end. Thanks to delays in the building process, she will be able to pause preparations for opening the new school to help us out at Parkland Village School.  Ms. Simmonds has served Parkland School Division students for 31 years and has been the Principal at Graminia School for the past 7 years.
Sincerely,
Christine Ross
