I am thrilled to be joining the teaching team at Parkland Village School this year in Grade 1. I attended school from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in Parkland School Division and am very thankful that I get to continue my journey as an educator within the community that I love. I am passionate about the personal, as well as academic development of children and believe that all students have the ability to do amazing things in this life. I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was very young and am beyond grateful to be given the opportunity to continue teaching and developing relationships with students in a meaningful and impactful way at PVS.

I am thrilled to be joining Parkland Village School for the upcoming school year.  I bring with me 12 years of experience as an educator. I have taught in international schools and public schools and I am excited about an opportunity to work with and learn from a new team of teachers and administrators.  Most importantly I am looking forward to serving the families of Parkland Village and creating a rich and authentic learning environment for students.  I look forward to working with and for all of you!

I am so excited to join the team at Parkland Village School. I have been teaching for six years and I’ve had the pleasure of working all over Alberta. My passion is for early learning and I specialize in early literacy. My favourite part of teaching is helping my students get excited about learning. I have an eleven year old daughter named Deliah and five year old husky/lab named Marley. We are certified pet therapy providers and we have worked in many schools and libraries. When I’m not at school I can be found in my garden or at the dog park. We like to spend our summers traveling around Alberta and BC and we are currently planning a vacation to Vancouver Island. I can’t wait to meet all the students and families, I am looking forward to meeting and working with all of you.

Teaching Assignments

We are excited to welcome our new staff members to our team. We are also happy to share the teaching assignments for the 2015-2016 school year.

Class Lists

Please note, your child was told which class they will be in for next year and it was also written on the last page of your child’s report card. Additionally, the class lists are hanging on the bulletin board at the school.

We are excited for next year. Until then, all of us at Parkland Village School wish you and your family a fantastic summer vacation.

Hudson Family House Fire

The Hudson family tragically lost their home to a house fire this past weekend. As you can imagine, this is a devastating loss and difficult time for them. As a community, we want to come together to show our support for the Hudson family. If you wish, you can support the Hudson family in two ways.

1. Financial Donation

Donations are being received in a couple of ways. First, donations are being coordinated by Tanya Horton at 780-919-8387. Also, a friend of the family has set up a “GO FUND ME” electronic account for those who wish to make online donations to the families home re-building efforts. The link for those direct donations is:  http://www.gofundme.com/vg2kcc

2. Barbecue & Bottle Drive

Volunteer drivers and participants are needed to assist with the bottle drive on June 6th. Details are in the poster below.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the school. Thanks in advance for all of your support for one of our families in their time of need.
