Students are working on their diorama. The students will be presenting their work on Monday, June 26 at 8:00 a.m. They all need to be well rehearsed for this. Please see LA Google Classroom for criteria for this assignment.

Track and Field
Proud of all of our participants in the PSD Elementary Track and Field Meet. Our students did well!!!! I wasn’t there to take pictures so these are the only two pictures I have.
Students need to read pages 134-137 to be prepared for the debate next class. The debate will be on Thursday, June 8. If your child forgot their book, I have uploaded Chapter 6 on google classroom so they can read away!!!
Casey At The Bat assignment is due Thursday, June 8 at 8:00 a.m. This assignment is on Google Classroom as well. We will be marking it tomorrow.

We had Constable Nasheim come and visit our classroom. She talked about human tracks and the students were able to make their footprints and then find the matching human. Here are a few pictures and a short video. I am sorry that I did not get any pictures of 6W. I was teaching my class when Constable Nasheim was with 6W.

Parklandia Project is due on Monday, May 29 at 8:00 a.m. Your group will present the first two blocks on Monday. Be prepared and well rehearsed. See Social Studies Google classroom to review all the criteria that must be met. This is a HUGE project and you were given plenty of classroom time to complete it. I want to see your best work and that is what I expect to see on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. .

Jump Rope for Heart
The students will be spending part of the afternoon outside participating in the Jump Rope for Heart. If any students have any donations, they must be handed in on Friday. Please have your child dress for the weather and the elements. The mosquitos are huge…..so maybe a bit of bug spray would not hurt.

June 6 PSD Track and Field Meet
If your child has qualified for this meet, they will be coming home with their consent form. Congratulations! Please have the form in asap. If your child is not able to attend, we will take an alternate athlete. Muir Lake school will need two parent volunteers to work at the finish line.
Track and Field Muir Lake
The Muir Lake Elementary Track meet was a success. The athletes will be learning shortly if they qualified for the June 6 Parkland School Division Elementary Track Meet. A consent letter will be coming to the students who qualified.
A special shout out to all of our parents who were able to volunteer for the half day. We definitely could not have this track meet if we did not get the volunteers. Another shout out to our junior high students who also helped make the day a success. Well done to everyone.
The students will be working on their Parklandia project and a glue gun will be needed. The students are in groups and will discuss the materials they will need to make their municipality.
A reminder that students need to bring in their costumes for their French play tomorrow.

The Elementary Muir Lake Track and Field Meet will be tomorrow. Please have your child dress for the weather and to bring bug spray. The mosquitos are out.
The track meet will start at 8:30 a.m. All volunteers, please be in the gym by 8:10 a.m. There will also be a concession tomorrow for all students.

Could you please send out a reminder to your parents for students to bring their COSTUMES and PROPS for Wednesday. We are filming our French plays this week.
Please remember to bring your blow dryer for Science on Monday. Remember, we will be having Science instead of Spelling.
Parklandia has begun. Students have begun their discussion on their Parklandia project. They are quite excited about it and I’m looking forward to seeing their master piece. In the near future, students will be needing to bring in glue guns.

Muir Lake just had their talent show today. We have some very gifted students. Here is one of our students displaying her talent.

Tree Swallow. I’m so excited to share with you that a Tree Swallow couple have decided to make our classroom birdhouse their home. It is quite exciting hearing them chirp right outside our door.
Our school will be doing playground clean up on Monday. Have your child bring some gloves to school if you have some available. Thank you!
