Parent Portal

October3

Hello Parents & Guardians of Muir Lake Students

Welcome to a new year! We are well underway and off to a great start!

This year we are continuing with you accessing our Parent Portal and need you as the parent to sign on to access & update your child’s demographic and school information. There is lots of information that can be found here like attendance, fees, consent forms, as well as a link to your child’s report card.  YES, that is correct you can view your child’s report card ONLINE (but not from your mobile device). Starting this year we will NOT be printing off student report cards, you will need to access them through the PowerSchool Parent Portal; so it is important to log on to the Portal.

The link to the PowerSchool Parent Portal is  https://powerschool.psd70.ab.ca/public

We are asking that you PLEASE go on to the Parent Portal and open the links to the Responsible Use of Technology, Locker License, FOIP, & CASL (Canada’s Anti Spam Legislation) consents and check them off.

The FOIP & Locker License forms already went home in paper format so if you have already returned the signed copies to the school – thank you. If you have not, then simply go online to the Parent Portal and check them off giving your consent.

RESPONSIBLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY CONSENT:  Parkland School Division No. 70 (PSD70) supports and encourages the use of technology to enhance and facilitate learning. This Responsible Use of Technology Agreement applies to student use of personal or PSD70 owned technology and we therefore require you to go ONLINE and indicate your consent.

CASL CONSENT:  We want to continue to keep you up-to-date and informed about the latest school and school board information, events and announcements through electronic communications such as emails and newsletters from Parkland School Division (including our Transportation department). Occasionally these communications may include information about offers, advertisements or promotions related to school activities such as event tickets, yearbooks, field trip opportunities, student photos, etc. or similar school-related activities and we need your consent to do so.  For more information about the CASL, click HERE.

For information of how to create an account and how to sign on to the PowerSchool Parent Portal please go to http://www.psd70.ab.ca/PowerSchool.php.  Once you have created YOUR PS Account you will be asked to provide your student’s Access ID and Access Password. If you have not yet created an account and linked your children to your account this is available from the school office and it is also being sent home with your students.

Forgotten what you have set as your user name or password? No problem, we can help with that too . . .  call us at the office and we can help.

Should you have ANY questions, please feel free to contact us in the school office at 780-963-3535 or via email to muirlake@psd70.ab.ca.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
