Don’t Judge a Teen by His Hoodie!
Teenagers, especially in large groups, can be very intimidating to those outside the education field. Honestly, even some educators feel that little quiver of fear! So when a group of five teens traipsed down the road to get their lunch from CFL, I can only imagine what the gentleman shoveling his walk thought. The kids passed by him, chatting and laughing.
On their way back to the school, the kids paused to deliver a large Tim’s coffee to the man. They handed it to him, commenting that they saw he was working hard and thought he needed a break. The man grinned from ear to ear and thanked them several times.
The kids came back and let us know that they were happy to provide a little warmth for a community member. We were happy they helped provide a shift in perception.
