The Confided Plug
Something strange happened last night while I was playing a game on the computer. As I moved the mouse across the pad, I heard a low humming sound and the screen began to glow. I felt a tug. Suddenly I felt myself being pulled inside the monitor. The next thing I knew, I was transported into a completely different world. The ground beneath my trembling feet was all made out of metal. It had squares of neon flashing lights and random spots on the ground. Everything was horizontally flat, colourless, and lifeless. This awkward place was almost deserted, except for one thing. There was a humongous building in front of me with three points at the top. The design and texture is exactly like the floor. One thing was different however, there were six flying robots surrounding the building. Each one is three times bigger than me and again, they resembled the floor. They had no legs, they just floated with an evil look on their face.
I didn’t know what to do. I didn`t know if they were dangerous. I didn`t know if they were going to hurt me. I didn’t know anything. I was feeling paranoid. I stepped forward, when one robot spoke. He questioned why I was here and what my name was. I answered him, and asked a large series of questions. The response I got stunned me. It turns out, I was in a place called Roboville, and it only has a population consists of only 50 robots not including the king. There is a secret plug behind the throne that the king sits on, and it controls this place. Unplugging it… is my only way of getting out of this trap.
I couldn’t comprehend it all. I was too busy freaking out inside, my mind is like a tornado. I was pretty much stuck in this place forever, and by the tone of the robots voice, they are not very friendly. Two robots grabbed me by the arm, but I didn’t try to break free because I knew if I did the grasp would get tighter. They led me to a room that was also equivalent to the rest of the building. There was a door at the rear of the building that they threw me in. It was all the same, except it was very tiny. I have no clue how long I am going to be in here. A day, a week, maybe even a month. After about a half an hour, I`m on the verge of a break down, I have never been in such a small place for even a short period of time. I start hearing a chiselling sound, and a block comes out followed by a robot.
I froze as if he wasn’t going to notice me. It starts talking in a low stuttering voice. I was bewildered by what he mostly said, but I got out the important parts. He informed me that he was imprisoned because he wanted to explore the outside world, and for four years, he was treated miserably. For the most part, he was trying to dig a hole to the throne room to unplug the plug. He says he wants me to go instead. I squeeze through the hole and into his cell. He expresses the plan to me. I brace myself, and jump in the hole leading to the throne.
The tunnels sensations is crumbly, like this whole village was built on dirt. It was a small hole, but big enough for me to crawl through. I was crawling for about an hour, but it feels like a decade. My knees and palms ache terribly. I slightly peek my head to see the magnificent room. Everything was dissimilar here. The walls were a beige colour of designed cement and the tiles on the floor are a luminescent hazelnut colour. A cashmere navy blue carpet is rolled from the door to the throne. The throne is an enormous chair is velvety red with golden man made handles and legs. The king sits upon the throne with a bejewelled crown resting on his metal head. Another six robots a lined the throne in a semi-circle and six pillars a lined the robots in a decorative design. I glimpse at the giant plug, and it looks like 10 men could pull it. The layout however, minimizes my chances of snatching the plug.
I tip-toe out of the hole, and hide behind a metal box. The box is about 30 feet from the throne. I try my hardest to conceal myself from the robots. I scurry to the first pillar and swiftly turn around like a ninja. My heart is pounding from nervousness. If I got caught, who knows what they would do to me. I try not to reason about it. I slowly make my way to the last pillar. I’m almost there! I just have to take a few more steps and pull the plug, then I’m home free. I turn my head, and see half a dozen robots approaching toward me.
My heart is now racing like a cheetah. I`m caught. I’m never going to escape. I might not even get to live now that they caught me. I turn my head towards the plug. They are still a few yards away from me. I sprint to the plug, use all my might, and unplug it. A big flash of white blinds me for a moment. When I open my eyes, I see the game I was playing last night. I`m home! I escaped the wicked robots! I have demolished their secret world and saves anyone who would get sucked in there again! I turn my computer off, and never entertain myself on it ever again.
