Students in grades 6-9 are invited to participate in our third annual “We Are Silent” Campaign. Students take a vow of silence in solidarity with other children around the world whose voices are not “heard”. Children who live in poverty, denied education, children forced into labour and children who are bullied.
Students collect pledges and then on April 16 will go silent for 24 hours. In each of the previous 2 years, students at Muir Lake have collected more than 2000 dollars. For a total of more than 4800 dollars. This money was donated to Free the Children and used in Haiti, Sierra Leone and other countries to assist children to receive an education.
Students who wish to participate on April 16 can pick up permission forms and pledge sheets from Mrs. Matsuba in her classroom.
