What’s Happening at MLS?

Whats Happening

Photo Retakes
The Lifetouch photographer will be here on Thursday November 19th to take Photo Retakes. Unlike past years, the photographer will ONLY be here on the one day to do retakes, not two days. The Monday/Wednesday kindergarten students are welcome to drop in to the Muir Lake Hall anytime from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to have their photo re-done. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation.

Ward Restructure
In 2013, Parkland School Division’s Trustees identified concerns with the current electoral wards. Specifically, it was felt that they no longer reflected the democratic principle of representation by population. CAT4 Assessments
During the next two weeks, our grades 2 and 4 to 9 students will be participating in the Canadian Achievement Tests (CAT-4). These assessments, based on Canadian curriculum, will assess each student’s basic skill level in reading, language, spelling and mathematics. Parents and teachers will receive a printed report. It is anticipated that the results will give our school information on achievement levels and will help to set direction for future learning needs. Please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Ferguson if you have any questions or concerns. For more information on these assessments you can visit their website at
