Memorial Composite High School’s Open House

Memorial Composite High School will be hosting an evening event for “First-Time Parents” on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00pm.  This evening is meant for parents seeing their first child through high school.  This will provide an opportunity for parents to become familiar with the school and to meet the school administration and counsellors.  Students do not need attend the First-Time Parents meeting.  

The “First Choice Open House” evening will be held at Memorial Composite High School on Thursday, March 2 starting at 6:00pm.  Open House will start with a welcoming address in the large gym.  All grade 9 students are encouraged to attend the Open House evening together with their parents in order to make their final course selections for grade 10.

How Book Sharing Strengthens Language & Literacy Skills Parent Workshop

This workshop is designed to provide parents/teachers/grandparents/caregivers of children from preschool to grade 1 with information about the benefits of book sharing. Reading to children is a wonderful way to spend time with your little ones, but it can also help strengthen vocabulary, concept development, comprehension, grammar, reading development, and much more! This workshop will demonstrate things you can add to your book sharing time to get the most out of this activity. An Alberta Health Services Speech-Language Pathologist will present the workshop and be available for questions families may have.
