MLCS Foundation AGM

Muir Lake School has provided our rural neighbourhood with a community focus for over 30 years. Our school building has been continually modernized and expanded to meet the increasing enrolment of the growing Community.

In 2000, the Muir Lake Community School Foundation (MLCSF) was formed and since then have had a great impact on Muir Lake School and the community. The Foundation was originally set up to oversee the construction of our playground and the running track. They continue to oversee the fundraising for the school for the MANY projects that are required and the many opportunities that are available to us as a school.

The Foundation is currently looking for volunteers to be involved and are holding their Annual General Meeting and elections on Thursday May 23rd at 7:00 pm in the library. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

If you or someone that you know is interested in helping out with the Foundation or have any questions please contact Maureena at muirlakefoundation@gmail.com.

Thank you.

Fundraising & School Council

Foundation Logo in ColourJust a reminder that the School Council meeting is tonight at 7 pm in the Collaboration Center. Elections for the School Foundation/Fundraising Association will also take place tonight, but this will take place ahead of time at 6:15 pm.  Without a team to run the Foundation, the casino and fundraising for the school cannot take place – please come out and volunteer to help out with this.meeting

MLCS Foundation Meeting

Foundation Logo in ColourThe Muir Lake Community School Foundation is a sub group of the Muir Lake School Council and was founded to take on the reconstruction of the outside grounds of the school.  In years past the Foundation spent MANY hours fundraising and applying for grants and was able to build our beautiful playground and more recently the running track, the soccer pitch in the center of the track, and the long jump pits.  With all that being said, the Foundation still needs your help.  We are looking for people that are willing to step up and volunteer their time to work on the MLCS Foundation.  Each year at a School Council meeting elections are held for the Foundation.  All positions become available even though some of our volunteers stay on from year to year – we are looking for new people with new ideas of how to get the job done.

So . . .  if you have a little extra time and you would like to help with the School Foundation, there will be an information meeting for the School Foundation at 6:15 on Monday March 9th, but the voting will take place at the School Council Meeting at 7 pm.  If you are not able to make it but would still like to help out or perhaps you would just like some more information, please email Joanne at muirlakefoundation@gmail.com  Thank you!

MLCS Foundation Elections

The Muir Lake Community School Foundation is a sub group of the Muir Lake School Council and was founded to take on the reconstruction of the outside grounds of the school.  In years past the Foundation spent MANY hours fundraising and applying for grants and was able to build our beautiful playground and more recently the running track.  The next project on the books is to complete the soccer pitch in the centre of the track, long jump pits, and the fencing on the west end of the track.  With all that being said, the Foundation still needs your help.  We are looking for people that are willing to step up and volunteer their time to work on the MLCS Foundation.  Each year at the February School Council meeting elections are held for the Foundation.  All positions technically become available even though some of our volunteers stay on from year to year – we are looking for new people with new ideas of how to get the job done.  So . . .  if you have a little extra time and you would like to help with the School Foundation, please come out to the next School Council meeting on Monday February 11th at 7 pm and put your name forward.  If you are not able to make it but would still like to help out or perhaps you would just like some more information, please call Janine Garley at the school office at 780-963-3535 or email her at muirlake@psd70.ab.ca  Thank you!
